The Team at Yen Hall Farm
Nick is my head man and joined the yard in December 2015. He started his career in show jumping and spent 4 ½ years as a rider for Tim Stockdale. He moved to racing in his twenties and quickly caught the racing bug. He took out his amateur license and had several rides on the flat and over hurdles. He then went on to be head lad for Luca Cumani, Michael Wigham and Willie Musson before joining us. He has also trained his own point to point horses and enjoys cooking and walking his dog.
Graham is our conditional jockey and joined us from Jamie Snowden. Prior to that he was an amateur on the flat . He has ridden four winners so far with hopefully many more to come! He also enjoys other sports playing football and competing in white collar boxing.
Sarah-Daisy worked most recently for Ben Haslam but has also worked ina prestigious top show jumping yard. She is full of energy and fun and is a good addition to the team.
Shani Nicholson worked for Luca Cumani before deciding that her real love was jumps horses and moving to us this year. She has evented and showjumped and has had lots of all-round riding experience. She is a great asset to the team and we are delighted that she decided to join us.
Our 15 year old son, William, is increasingly helping out with the racehorses as well as his racing ponies and general yard duties.
We are helped on some mornings by Brian Mayes, who also looks after the machinery and does general work on the farm (and has done so all his life, as did his father before him).
Jockey, Jack Quinlan comes in two mornings a week. It is a great benefit to have him ride work and school the horses so that he knows them so well before he rides them in races.
Farrier, Ashley Holmes of ACH Farriery is another key member of the team and is on the yard twice a week.
